Samsung announced the new Galaxy S25 series back in January , a collection of three phones that compete with Google’s Pixels for the title of the best Android phones you can buy right now. Of the new lineup , the Galaxy S25+ is the mid-range model and a cheaper alternative to the top-end Galaxy S25 Ultra, and you can currently pick it up for $799.99 ($200 off the original retail price of $999.99).
After the discount, the S25+ costs just $90 more than the base Galaxy S25 model, offering much better value for money.
The S25 series offers upgrades over the S24 series : The best OS features are shared across all Galaxy phones, giving you new features you can only get from One UI 7, including exclusive media and notification features. Two of the best are the Now Bar and Now Brief, which show you quick alerts or notifications personalized to your feed and activities. PCMag gave the Galaxy S25 an “Excellent” rating for its useful AI features, better battery life than the Ultra (about 15 hours on a single charge), outstanding cameras, and long-lasting software support.
Probably the best competitor for the Galaxy S25+ is the Google Pixel 9 , which currently costs the same at $799.99. If you’re already in the Google or Samsung ecosystem, your best bet is to stick with your brand unless you plan on swapping out all your other accessories.
The Galaxy S25+ runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, has three rear lenses including a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 6.7-inch, 120Hz OLED display. RAM is a generous 12GB, and storage options start at 128GB, but that $799.99 option is for 256GB.
