Samsung’s Flagship 4K QLED TV Is on Sale at Its Lowest Price Ever

Amazon’s Big Spring Sale is back for a second year, running from March 25 to 31, and it’s essentially a slower, longer version of Prime Day . The deals may not be as flashy, but the price cuts are real—and you don’t have to be a Prime member to shop. However, Amazon says Prime members will have access to better discounts and more options . If you haven’t already subscribed , you can get a free 30-day trial to take full advantage of the week-long event, then cancel your subscription before billing begins .

One of the biggest discounts this week is on the Samsung QN90D 50-inch 4K QLED TV , which is currently on sale for $899, nearly $500 off its list price of $1,397.99. According to price trackers , this is the lowest price it has ever achieved. Samsung’s QLED panels have always been renowned for sharp images and stunning brightness, and the QN90D continues that legacy, especially with Neo QLED technology, Quantum HDR+ and a Mini-LED backlight that helps improve contrast and HDR performance so blacks look deeper, highlights are brighter, and you won’t be squinting during dark movie scenes.

The main trade-off here is the lack of Dolby Vision support, which Samsung consistently skips, and that hasn’t changed with the QN90D . If you prefer HDR , this TV may not be for you. Also, while it comes with an ATSC 1.0 tuner for live TV, it skips ATSC 3.0, so you won’t be able to get new 1080p or 4K over-the-air broadcasts . This isn’t a deal breaker for most people, but if you rely on an antenna instead of streaming, it’s worth keeping in mind.

This 50-inch TV is best suited for a living room or bedroom where you sit six to eight feet away. It runs on Samsung’s Tizen operating system, which can be a little confusing if you’re not used to Samsung’s smart TV interface, but it supports all the major apps out of the box, including Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+. You can also stream directly from your iPhone, iPad or Mac using Apple AirPlay, and it also works with Miracast or WiDi if you want to mirror your Windows PC. Amazon Alexa is built-in, and with long-range microphones, you can use voice commands without lifting the solar remote. On the gaming front, the TV’s 120Hz refresh rate increases to 144Hz with VRR and supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. Plus, with just 2.9 milliseconds of input lag in Game Mode, you can expect smooth, responsive gameplay, according to this PCMag review .
