I Love My Pixel 9 Pro and It’s Going to Be $200 Off on Black Friday
I’ve been a Pixel supporter since day one. As my colleagues Michelle Erhardt and David Nield have confirmed, the Pixel 9 in all its iterations ( Pixel 9 , Pixel 9 Pro , and Pixel 9 Pro Fold ) is exceptional. I chose the Pixel 9 Pro, which is down to $799 from $999 during Black Friday—if you’re in the market for a new phone, I say this is the one you need.
The Pixel 9 Pro is the first model in years that’s smaller than its predecessor, for which I’m eternally grateful. My thumb rests comfortably on the Pixel 9 Pro, it fits comfortably in my hand and weighs just 7 ounces. I don’t know why phones have been getting bigger for a while, but I’m really glad we’re moving away from that trend. If you’re a masochist, you might want to opt for the Pixel 9 Pro XL . The Pixel 9 Pro is also a very good-looking phone, but let’s be honest: most of us keep our expensive smartphones in a protective case. I am especially loyal to models from RhinoShield , which are also on sale.
If you’re already a Pixel fan, the interface is an extension of what you know, and the process of switching from my previous Pixel to this one was smoother than ever before. I didn’t have to adjust any screen settings again—even the screensaver was carried over. Using the Pixel means you see Android as it was meant to be: Google’s operating system on a Google phone. Everything is smooth, the settings are the same everywhere, standard scrolling behavior. Most apps are unlocked using your fingerprint or facial recognition.
My main complaint about the Pixel has always been that the camera seems inferior to the iPhone, but that’s not the case with the Pixel 9 Pro—both cameras are amazing . Resolution, image stability, lighting – everything is excellent.
Every time I upgrade my phone, I worry about whether this model will be the one I regret. I’ve been using the Pixel 9 Pro for a few months now and it feels great.
