My Favorite Mop and Vacuum Combo Is $100 Off on Black Friday
My floor is incredibly dirty. It’s rainy season in Oregon, and I have a Doberman, a doggie door, and white tile: you can do the math. While I regularly let robot mops patrol my home, I often want to fix the problem immediately, and lately I’ve been particularly excited about the Narwal S20 Pro Cordless Vacuum Mop , which is currently $399.99 on Black Friday, which is 20% off %. regular price $499.99.
While stick vacuums have been quite popular over the past few years, stick mops and combination units are relatively new and, to be honest, I’m not impressed with them. The Dyson submarine was a real disappointment: it leaked everywhere. (Dyson has a new mop, the WashG1, which I haven’t tried yet). However, almost everyone has a version of this vacuum cleaner/mop, but I was curious about the Narwhal , so I installed it. It’s only been a few weeks and I don’t want to let it go.
First of all, turning on the mop is like putting your foot on the floor on the gas pedal. This mop will do. Not only will it take zero effort to push it forward, but you’ll have to run to catch up with it—it feels effortless in your hands, and I love that. It’s also quite lightweight and flips back to move forward on its own; you tilt it vertically to keep it from moving. The on-screen readings give you a lot of information about what the mop is doing and talk to you (a lot).
Although it is a mop and vacuum cleaner, it is worth noting that it is the best mop. It works well as a vacuum cleaner, but due to the design of the vacuum nozzle, it only picks up smaller debris. For most homes this is normal and you won’t need more. If you have heavier needs, this may not be the vacuum cleaner for you. However, in the vacuum’s favor, the design allows it to get precisely into corners and edges—better than most handheld vacuums.
The mop is nothing more than a rotating roller, but it does the job well. It’s fast, effective and removes incredible dirt and stains. To fill it with water, you pull the cartridge out of the back of the mop; it was easy to take out and put back in without any mistakes. Narwhal supplies the cleaning fluid wand in a bottle to make it easier to pour into the water canister. To drain dirty water, remove the canister along the length of the machine. If I had any complaint this would be it. I’ve been so spoiled by self-emptying robotic mops that emptying the canister manually has now become tedious. There’s wet trash, dry trash, and a filter to clean. Of course, this is not difficult to do – it only takes a minute, but I would still prefer not to do it at all.
The entire Schwabang sits on a stand that protects the floor from the mop head and cleans the mop head for you while charging. If the floor is particularly dirty, you will be asked to return the mop to the charger for cleaning before continuing to clean.
This vacuum cleaner/mop is my friend as we communicate three or four times a day to clean up the dirty marks left on my tiles. If you’re someone whose kitchen floor is always a disaster after dinner or have pets running around, I think this is a decent cleaning machine.
