My Seven Favorite Kitchen Cleaning Products

Yes, I write about cleaning and organizing, but in real life I also have to organize my home. Sometimes this means using techniques and techniques , but sometimes it just means rolling up your sleeves and getting to work. After three decades of life and the bonus experience of testing and reviewing products, I have strong opinions. This is what I swear by when I clean my kitchen.

Upgrade your sponge for maximum kitchen cleaning.

A regular old sponge is easy to pick up at the corner store, so I’d never turn my back on something that’s affordable and cheap, but if you have the option, you should upgrade your sponge. As I mentioned earlier, I was obsessed with my Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Extra Foamy since switching to this more durable melamine sponge a few months ago. Melamine sponges like the Magic Eraser are a superior alternative to any other cleaning sponge in their own right, as they tackle stains, scuffs and sticky materials with an ease that no other sponge can match. However, Extra Foamy is a real beast among beasts. Every time I use it I’m reminded of how impressive it is. Kitchen clutter has absolutely no chance.

What makes them great is the little capsules of foaming cleanser that are inserted into the sponge.

For washing dishes and other general cleaning, I’m also a big proponent of silicone sponges . Yes, they feel a little strange in the hand, but their tendrils are easy to clean up dirt, and they don’t get dirty after getting wet over and over again like regular sponges do. It’s also more environmentally friendly since they last forever. I’ve had mine for about five years now.

The best cleaning products for your kitchen

Generally, you don’t need to be told that you should buy a floor cleaner, but it’s still helpful to get someone else’s opinion on the best one, so I’m here to lay it out. As I already said , I was impressed by the new composition of PineSol , which is twice as concentrated as the original version. Not only do I notice that cutting through the mess on floors and flat surfaces is a little easier than the PineSol I grew up with, but the scent is stronger and can’t be beat for about $13. I use it about once a week, but I don’t have to use as much, so I save money by not having to turn it on again. The bottle below has been in my rotation for about two months and still has plenty left to go.

I also recommend the Brasso bottle for all your metal needs. Yes, there are great hacks to spruce up your fixtures, but this seven-in-one polish is worth picking up on your next shopping trip because it’s so easy to use. At under $5 it’s not a big splurge, but the impact it has on stainless steel, bronze, brass, copper and more is invaluable. Just use a little to get started. You can always add more if you don’t get the results you want.

Interesting and simple gadgets for cleaning the kitchen

A few weeks ago I bought silicone covers for my refrigerator. It didn’t seem like a big deal at the time, but they have made a huge difference in the cleanliness of my refrigerator simply because they are much easier to clean than the shelves themselves. I can simply remove the silicone sheets, let them warm up to room temperature, and then it will be much easier to clean up spills from them in the sink. I got these:

There are also some viral cleaners that will make you feel like a CleanTok star. For example, if you want a laugh while you clean your microwave, the Angry Mama Microwave Steam Cleaner ($5.88) is a social media favorite. It can be filled with vinegar and water and then atomic bombed for five to seven minutes to create steam that removes contaminants. dried dirt and water stains inside the car. His funny face is just a bonus.

For more hands-on cleaning, the Rubbermaid Reveal Electric Scrubber ($19.98) is a smaller version of those viral electric brushes you see all over social media , making it ideal for cleaning sinks, grout, microwaves and small premises. around the kitchen.
