These Bowers & Wilkins Headphones Are Now $150 Off
If you’re looking for luxury over-ear headphones, the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e , currently priced at $249.43 (lowest price ever), might catch your eye. At first glance, these headphones are quite stylish. They come in three colors—forest green, ocean blue, and cloud gray—and feature a chic semi-matte finish on the aluminum earcups, as well as memory foam ear pads wrapped in faux leather. They’re surprisingly comfortable even during long listening sessions, which is great if you often wear headphones for hours on end.
The controls are intuitive, but not perfect. You have physical buttons on the right earbud and a quick-action button on the left earbud for switching noise-canceling modes or activating pass-through mode (essentially allowing you to hear what’s going on around you without removing your headphones). However, if you’re hoping to use the Quick Action button to summon the voice assistant, you’ll have to remap the ANC controls through the companion app—quite a hassle considering other brands make this task easy.
In terms of audio, the B&W Px7 S2e features custom 40mm dynamic drivers that are said to deliver crisp and detailed sound. And if you have a device that supports AptX Adaptive and has a high-definition streaming service, you can enjoy an even better experience with 24-bit audio capabilities. However, Apple doesn’t yet support AptX, so iPhone users won’t be able to get the full high-definition experience due to codec limitations. They’re effective at canceling out low-frequency sounds (like airplane engines) and quieting chatter in a busy café, but they’re reportedly not as powerful as something like the Bose QuietComfort 45 , which is about $199 cheaper (if you’re open to movement along the route used).
According to this PCMag review , its ANC adjusts in real time based on head movement, meaning you can hear slight positional shifts when you turn your head. For some, this is a minor irritation; For others, it may cause discomfort due to pressure on the ear. Battery life is pretty decent: up to 30 hours on a full charge. And if you’re always on the go, a quick 15-minute charge will reportedly give you around seven hours of playback. In terms of accessories, you get a USB-C charging cable and a USB-C to 3.5mm cable for wired listening (though an adapter isn’t included, so you might have to dig out one if necessary). The included hard case will keep your investment safe.
