These Marshall Headphones Are on Sale for $80 Right Now.
If you’re looking for simple, bass-heavy retro-style wireless headphones, the Marshall Major IV might be worth a look, especially now that they’re down to $79.99 from $149.99. They have 40mm drivers that produce a frequency range of 20Hz to 20kHz, so they’re pretty versatile for most genres of music. However, while the sound is impressive, it may not be the most accurate for those looking for very precise audio.
The Major IV headphones stay true to the brand’s iconic design with a vinyl finish and classic logo on each earcup, while also keeping things simple with just one knob that controls everything – volume, track skip, Bluetooth pairing and calls. Its soft ear pads and padded faux leather headband are said to provide comfort for long periods of use. However, please note: they only connect via Bluetooth; no application support. So, if you want to change your headphone settings through an app, you might want to reconsider.
You can switch to using the Major IV as wired headphones if you want to save battery life. Marshall claims you’ll get around 80 hours of playtime, although this may vary depending on your usage and volume level. Charging is done either via a USB-C cable or wirelessly, but as PCMag’s review notes, the headphones’ perfect balance makes wireless charging a bit tricky. Additionally, some users noted that the headphones don’t handle high volumes very well, and there have been reports of problems pairing with Windows PCs and an inability to reset settings.
The Sennheiser 450BT is a good alternative and is currently available for $122.90, down from $179.95.
