This Asus Gaming Monitor Is Over $100 Off
4K Ultra HD gaming monitors with high refresh rates have historically been quite expensive, but the arrival of the Asus ROG Strix XG27UCS this year challenges that notion by offering competitive specs at a more affordable price. The Asus ROG Strix XG27UCS currently costs $382.99 (originally $499) after 23% off.
ROG Strix XG27UCS is a 27-inch gaming monitor that was released in March this year. To keep the price down (compared to other gaming monitors), ASUS has cut out the RGB technology and USB hub that are typically found in more premium gaming monitors. However, it still has the expected 160Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and 4K resolution.
Since this is a monitor with an IPS panel, you won’t get the true blacks that OLEDs offer. According to IGN’s review , this monitor’s contrast ratio is close to 922:1, so blacks can look closer to dark gray.
You can change the settings and calibrate them to suit specific games or genres. The nice thing is that it allows you to save profiles with custom settings so you can easily switch between them if you move from one game to another.
The height, tilt, swivel and swivel of the stand are adjustable. You can also change the view from landscape to portrait, which makes it useful for people who also want to use it for work. Another feature that makes it easy to use is the USB-C port that supports Display Port, meaning this is the only cable you will need to connect your laptop for video, audio and charging (most modern laptops now have this feature) . . It also has a small device tray on the stand where you can put your phone, and a headphone jack for wired headphones or external speakers.
