This AI Tool Can Really Help You Plan Your Vacation
If you love vacations but hate planning, planning your itinerary and booking hotels, meals, and activities can ruin your trip before it even begins. You may not know where to start looking for recommendations, or you may be overwhelmed by the sheer number of options to choose from.
If a travel agent is a little out of reach financially, you can try Mindtrip.ai , a chat-based travel planning tool. It’s currently in beta, but it will generate travel itineraries with specific recommendations based on tips, questions or media uploads – and you’ll be able to see detailed opening hours, prices, locations and reviews and click to book directly. when you’re ready. . The tool also includes a Traveler quiz that provides recommendations. You don’t need an account to use Mindtrip, but you can create one (it’s free) to keep track of all your chats and itineraries.
How to plan a vacation with Mindtrip
The easiest way to get started with Mindtrip is to go to the home page and start chatting . You can enter something as simple as a destination, or you can enter a very specific prompt (for example, “I want to visit Japan, see the cherry blossoms, and go on a culinary tour”). The chatbot can also pull information from links to social media posts (though this didn’t work for every piece of content I tried) or voice prompts.
When I asked the chatbot to help plan a trip to Japan, it returned a five-day itinerary with specific attractions, restaurants and hotels, and transportation recommendations. Each suggestion is clickable and a Google-style listing appears, including photos, reviews, and a map. Hotel listings show specific room types with prices and photos, and restaurant listings show similar listings nearby. City lists contain pros and cons, as well as seasonal weather reports. You can add recommendations to your favorites if you want to create a different route later.
You can continue to build or refine the route by giving the chatbot additional tips or questions. If you create an account, you can view your chats and saved routes by opening the left menu bar. Mindtrip also has a Traveler feature that asks you a few hints about what type of travel you prefer to inform your recommendations.
I also used the chatbot to organize a trip to my hometown to see if its suggestions were ones I would recommend too, and for the most part they were. At the very least it gives you a starting point to build on.
