Samsung Includes a $500 Monitor With Its New Galaxy Laptop
Samsung really wants you to buy its new Galaxy Book4 Edge laptop, so much so that it’s giving you a 43-inch Samsung M7 smart monitor worth $499.99. The Galaxy Book4 Edge starts at $1,349.99 . This is one of Microsoft’s new Copilot+ PCs , bringing many artificial intelligence features to Microsoft 365 users .
Copilot started out as Microsoft’s version of ChatGPT and is now integrated into high-end laptops under the name Copilot+ PC. The Galaxy Book4 Edge is one of the latest examples from Samsung – it comes with a 3.4GHz Snapdragon X Elite, a high-performance processor for power users who need to multitask or create multimedia. It has 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The screen is a 14-inch AMOLED touch display with a resolution of 2880 by 1800 pixels.
According to Heo Young Won’s review above, the speakers aren’t very good, with distortion at high volumes. Multitasking performance seems flawless and good enough to run most games on Steam without overheating, as long as you don’t mind running some loud fans. Like most new laptops, there are fixable bugs that will likely be fixed with updates. Samsung says the battery will last up to 20 hours, but most users will last between six and nine hours, which is in line with most Windows laptops.
The 43-inch Smart Monitor M7 is also new and will be released on June 4, 2024. This is a 4K smart monitor that comes with Samsung TV Plus so you can watch live TV channels and your favorite streaming apps.
If you’re not interested in a monitor, Best Buy is offering the same laptop for $1,199.99 (originally $1,349.99).
