My Favorite Amazon Deal of the Day: This LG Ultrawide Monitor

Ultrawide monitors can save you space and (sometimes) money compared to two separate monitors. LG’s 29-inch UltraWide Monitor can do both for the price of one budget monitor. For a limited time, you can get this LG monitor for $166.99 (originally $249.99), which is the lowest price on Amazon according to Price Checker Tools .

This LG UltraWide Monitor is considered a budget monitor even at its full list price of $249.99. This means you won’t get the 4K resolution, smart features, or gaming monitor specs. What you get is an IPS panel with a 2560 by 1080 resolution, 21:9 aspect ratio and HDR10. While it’s not designed for gaming, it does have AMD Freesync and a 100Hz refresh rate, so it can handle games better than your average budget monitor.

The monitor can be mounted in case you don’t want to use the stand that comes with it. In terms of inputs, it has a display port, a USB-C display port (which allows you to connect any device to it with a single cable), HDMI, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The design is decent, and the white color looks clean (that’s what the “W” in the model number 29WQ600-W stands for). Keep in mind that this monitor only tilts forward and backward, with no height adjustment, swivel, or swivel.

One of the nice features of this monitor is that it can detect when a new input is connected or in use and automatically switch to it. It also comes with built-in speakers, which is not common for speakers at this price point. The IPS panel means you’ll get great colors, wider viewing angles and better visibility in sunny conditions. However, the contrast ratio won’t be as good as a VA panel and is subject to the classic backlight leakage that all IPS panels can have.
