PlayStation VR2 Coming to PC Later This Year
PlayStation VR2 was released in 2023, bringing Sony’s next-gen virtual reality experience to the PlayStation 5 with new features and games, but the headset needed to be connected to the PS5 to work. Rumors about a PC adapter have been around for a while now, with Sony previously unveiling certification for the PSVR2 PC adapter. Now it looks like Sony is finally ready to make this move official .
The PlayStation VR2 adapter for PC will be available on August 7th for a retail price of $59.99. It will be available at select retailers and Direct.playstation.com where available. To use the connector, you will also need a compatible Displayport 1.4 cable and Windows 10 or Windows 11. There are a few more requirements listed below:

This move opens the door to SteamVR’s vast library of games. Additionally, Sony’s May State of Play announced new PS VR2 games coming to PS5. Of note is the stellar (pun intended) Alien: Rogue Incursion , which will also be coming to PC, giving owners of Sony headsets new platform freedom.
Please note that PS VR2 will not have access to all of its features when connected to a PC. In particular, features such as headset feedback, HDR, eye tracking, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback are not available when playing PC games. Other features such as 4K imaging, PS VR2 110-degree viewing angle, finger touch recognition, and see-through viewing will also be available. Sony also says that 3D audio will work on PS VR2 when connected to a PC, but it will use SteamVR audio technology instead of the PlayStation 5’s Tempest 3D Audiotech.
While the PS VR2 is a wired headset, its built-in halo strap, updated controller design, and console-ready functionality should make it an attractive choice in the PC market.
