The Best MagSafe Accessories for Your IPhone
The original MagSafe technology ( a redesign of the air fryer mechanism that Apple introduced in the MacBook Pro in 2006) brought a much-needed improvement to the charging process for our devices, dramatically reducing the likelihood of the laptop being flung across the room by tripping over the charging cable. . Apple later abandoned MagSafe technology for a while in favor of USB-C charging, but it has recently become more widespread, appearing not only in MacBook chargers but in all sorts of iPhone accessories. Here are some of my favorites.
Update your chargers
-
Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe : Chargers with tangled cords are long overdue for discontinuation. With twisted ends, broken ends, and constant staining of Apple’s white cables, it seems inefficient to carry multiple items for one purpose. This efficient charger has room to magnetically power all your small electronics at once, great for traveling, decluttering your bedside, or safely powering three devices in a standard outlet while occupying only one port.
-
Anker Magnetic Power Bank 10,000mAh : You don’t have to settle for one of Apple’s overpriced MagSafe batteries, and you don’t have to settle for a cheap knockoff that will ruin your phone. Anker is known for making quality electronic chargers and batteries (they even make one for your whole family) that get the job done, and this unit comes in several fun colors.

-
Case-Mate Magnetic Phone Grip : This is a nice accessory that makes it easier to hold your phone with one hand, but still gives you the ability to remove it and put your phone in your pants pocket or purse. One downside: the small slot only fits one finger, which is a little inconvenient, but this is one of the few truly minimalist phone grips.
-
Hula+ MagSafe Portable Mount : Dare you twirl in the shower? The Hula+ has a tile- and glass-compatible MagSafe mount that uses a suction cup on one side and magnets on the other, which can help your phone stay in place in some dangerous areas. If you enjoy making movies, gaming, or watching content while doing other things, this is a versatile option.
-
Magnetic Gooseneck Phone Mount : Clip-on phone and tablet stands don’t really work. They slip, slide, squish, and devices can fall out. The magnet is safer for these flexible mounts, which require a little more anti-gravity action. Hands-free phone use is crucial for work and play, so get more options for chip diving, controller destruction, or even a little Netflix and knitting.
-
Anker Magnetic Phone Grip : Working out with your phone can be very painful. Armbands like to slip, and stuffed pockets can stretch or feel bulky on the leg. This is a multi-functional mount with double-sided magnets and a loop clasp that doubles as a stand and allows for rotation. You can attach it to anything, clip it to your stroller for safekeeping, or stick your fingers through it to make it easier to text with one hand.
Wallet updates
-
ESR Magnetic Wallet . Magnetic wallets have proven to be quite useful, but there’s more to it than just storing your cards. An upgraded version of the beloved original, this wallet doubles as a phone stand.
-
Pelican Magnetic Wallet : Since it is waterproof, you can use this wallet even without your phone to protect your cards and cash from the elements. While it’s a little more expensive than a regular phone wallet, it has a hard case that has a little more space than others.
Converting a Non-MagSafe Case
-
Universal ESR HaloLock Magnetic Ring Conversion Kit : Many phone cases work with MagSafe right out of the box, but not all of them. If you like a non-magnetic phone case, use a sticker to convert it and make it MagSafe compatible.
