How to Unblock Someone on Facebook
You should never be ashamed to be rude to the block button on Facebook. Blocking someone on social media is freeing, an exercise in boundary setting, and a great way to create a positive online experience . It also sends the message that you are not to be trifled with. However, admittedly, this can be done in a rash manner when you don’t really mean it. If you regret blocking someone on Facebook , you can undo it, but it’s not very intuitive.
What does blocking Facebook do?
If you’ve ever been blocked on Facebook, you’ll notice that you can’t search the other person’s profile or see their posts and comments. When you block someone on Facebook, this is what you’re doing to them: you’re making yourself completely unavailable. They can’t find you at all.
Blocking is the easy part. You go to their profile, click on the three dot menu under their cover photo in the bottom right corner, and click the block button.

To unblock a person, you will have to do a little more work:
-
Go to your profile by clicking your profile picture in the top right corner.
-
Click Settings & Privacy, then Settings.
-
Find “Privacy” in the right column and click on it.
-
Click “Block”.
-
In the “Block users” section, find “Edit” and click on it, then “View blocked list.”
-
You’ll see a list of everyone you’ve blocked, and you can tap Unblock next to the ex-offender, then tap Confirm to continue.
Please note that in some cases, the “Blocked” message may appear as soon as you click “Settings”, depending on whether it falls under the “Most visited settings” list.
Things to consider when unblocking on Facebook
When you block (or unblock) someone, they won’t receive a notification about it, so they may not know they were ever blocked. Unfortunately, once you unlock them, they won’t be automatically added to your friends list; you’ll need to send a new friend request if you want them back in your contact list. If they didn’t know they were blocked, it might confuse them.
Also, if you unblock someone, you won’t be able to block them again for two days, so make sure you really want them to be unblocked before you continue. Even if they are not your friends on Facebook, they will still be able to see your public posts after you unblock them.
