This Kasa Smart Power Strip Is 50% Off for October Prime Day
I’ve bought countless smart plugs and configured a staggering number of octopus strips so I can control what I want from my phone or hub. The Kasa Smart Plug Power Strip HS300 , currently on sale as part of Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days, would have saved me so much work.
In addition to surge protection, which isn’t such a bad thing these days when power grids are unstable, it has six (count ’em, six ) smart plugs. I know it sounds like I’m doing a lot for this feature, but there’s a good reason for it. You can give each of them different functions, and I don’t know anyone who makes a smart strip with that many smart plugs. Think of a holiday light show, office, or greenhouse. I can easily think of twelve situations in which I would use this strip.
But the best reason to buy it is it’s 50% off on Amazon Prime Big Deal Days, so you get a strip worth $79.99 for $39.99. This band does not require any hub as it works with Kasa or Alexa and Google app. However, it does not support Apple HomeKit; Kasa plans to integrate HomeKit support in the future, but the band doesn’t currently work with HomeKit as a hub. If you’re a HomeKit user, that doesn’t mean you can’t use the strip, just that you can’t insert it into HomeKit—you’ll need the Kasa app.
If your office lives in darkness, this bright white stripe may seem unnecessary, but otherwise it should blend in with most of the decor. I really prefer the flat corner plug for a low profile behind a sofa or table.
