Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ Tour Heads to Cinemas

Attention Beyhive and Bey-curious: Beyoncé is coming to a theater near you. To keep up with Taylor Swift’s theatrical event The Eras Tour , Renaissance: A Beyoncé Film will be shown in North American theaters on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for at least a month, starting December 1st.

The concert film/documentary details the inner workings and stage performances of Bey’s Renaissance Tour, from the opening show in Stockholm, Sweden to the grand finale in Kansas City, Missouri. According to promotional material, “Millions of moviegoers will take part in the Joy Parade, a monumental dance party that celebrates everyone’s right to be themselves, close to home.” Sounds fun.

This will be Beyoncé’s first concert film to be released in theaters, but the second large-scale music “event” program to be released this year, following Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour , which opens worldwide on October 13.

RENAISSANCE: BEYONCE’S FILM

Beyoncé vs. Godzilla (and the Holiday Movie Dead Zone)

Big blockbusters traditionally don’t hit theaters for a few weeks after Thanksgiving. This year, Beyoncé’s “experience” competes with Japanese monster movie Godzilla Minus One; Todd Haynes’ fictional retelling of Mary Kay Letourneau’s story, May-December; and the early Eddie Murphy Christmas movie “Candy Cane Lane.” So the box office field is wide open for Queen Bey.

How to Pre-Order Tickets for Renaissance: A Beyoncé Film

You can purchase tickets for US screenings now at amctheatres.com and Fandango.com , as well as at Cinemark , Regal , Cineplex and Cinepolis . Tickets start at $22 for “regular” screens. More immersive IMAX and Dolby Cinema experiences at AMC theaters and “other branded premium large-format screens” will likely cost more, depending on the theater.
