You Can Ask Alexa to Notify You of Upcoming Prime Day Deals

Prime Day deals have been rolling out for a few days now, but keeping track of the best deals that haven’t arrived on July 11 and 12 and figuring out which deals are worth it can be next to impossible. Alternatively, you can ask Alexa to tell you about deals on products you already know you want to purchase so you don’t have to waste time sorting through the noise.

Amazon Prime subscribers in the US who also have Echo smart speakers can turn on discount alerts to be notified 24 hours before discounts go live and even get your Alexa to buy these items for you. Here’s how to do it.

How to Set Up Alexa Deal Notifications

First, open the Amazon Shopping app or go to the Amazon website through a browser and add the products you want to be alerted about to your Wishlist , Shopping Cart, or Saved for Later list.

Then go to the Alexa mobile app and go to More > Settings > Notifications > Amazon Shopping and turn on Deal Recommendations under Shopping Recommendations. This ensures that you receive notifications about products that appear in your purchases.

If Alexa detects an upcoming deal for something in your Saved For Later, Wish List, or Cart, you’ll get a pop-up alert on the Echo Show display or see a yellow ring of light on your Echo speaker. You can also ask, “Alexa, what are my notifications?” to hear a list of the deals she’s made up so far.

Alexa can detect deals for up to 24 hours, so you can either ask her to remind you again when the deal is up or ask her to buy the item when the deal is up. Just say, “Alexa, buy this for me” and it will charge by default and ship to the default shipping address in your account.
