This Site Will Teach You How to Create Strange Things in “Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom”
There’s so much to do in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom , but you don’t have to do any of it if you’d rather just fuck and do weird shit. And of course, many players come up with amazing contraptions using the game’s deep crafting and physics systems.
While it’s easy to experiment on your own using the building materials lying around Hyrule, and the game has a hidden auto-build feature you can get during your adventure that allows you to quickly build simple gears and vehicles, you won’t find any tutorials. a game that explains how to create wacky, complex creations that are currently booming on social media. Luckily, the new ZeldaBuilds.gg website allows users to upload and share their best creations.
What’s more, users can list what in-game materials were used to build them and offer written instructions so others can recreate them.
However, Zelda Builds is still pretty new and its library of crafting recipes is still growing. So, to give you more inspiration, here’s an overview of some of our favorite things that Tears of the Kingdom players have created and shared on social media.
pet the dog
If you’re disappointed that Link can’t pet the dogs in Tears of the Kingdom , you’re not alone. To right that wrong, John Cartwright of Good Vibes Gaming built this long arm back scratcher for one of the many very good guys in the game.
Automated equipment
Similarly, Twitter user @Liz_Caingcoy uses the game’s simulated physics to design all sorts of machines, such as multi-purpose mechanical arms and even automatic rowboats.
Korok Torture Devices
The enchanting forest spirits that lurk throughout Hyrule are returning to Tears of the Kingdom , and many of them are now setting out on adventures of their own. Unfortunately, these little guys get tired pretty quickly and need Link’s help to find their way back to their friends – often attaching them to gliders, vans, or other makeshift vehicles.
However, some players use these poor, vulnerable creatures for some rather sadistic, albeit amusing, engineering experiments. (But I don’t know what happens to people who straight up crucify them .)
Trains
Hyrule is a large place that stretches for miles across a variety of terrain – and even into the sky and deep underground – and some players intend to connect the various regions of the kingdom with magical railways.
Skateboards
The previous Legend of Zelda game, Breath of the Wild , introduced shield surfing to Link’s repertoire, but using Tears of the Kingdom’s different crafting mechanic, Fuse, you can combine mining carts and other wheeled vehicles with shields by rotating Link’s protective gear. into a skateboard.
Tanks and heavy weapons
The Tears of the Kingdom version of Hyrule is a dangerous place teeming with Bokoblin hunting parties, deadly bosses roaming the open fields, and strange horrors lurking in caves and ravines. Instead of fighting these enemies in close combat, many players create all sorts of heavy weaponry to destroy their enemies, from catapults and tanks to flying bombers and attack helicopters .
Orbital lasers
Tanks and guns are one thing, but a flying unmanned orbital laser is another. Watching player @StickdrawzG destroy Gleeok with this high tech weapon is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in Tears of the Kingdom .
bellows
When crafting abilities were first shown in Tears of the Kingdom , my Twitter feed was full of people wondering if mech could be built. Well, less than a day after it was released on the Nintendo Switch, players were already building bipedal war machines to rival the likes of Gundam and Mech Warrior.
While Tears of the Kingdom never requires you to create such imaginary junk – in fact, crafting is just one of many ways to interact with the game’s huge, highly detailed world – it’s rewarding when your experimental creations actually work, and that’s interesting to see what other players create.
