Teens Can Exercise for Free All Summer at Planet Fitness

This summer , Planet Fitness is giving teens a free summer membership to workout at their fitness center. From May 15 to August 31, pre-registered teens ages 14-19 will be able to exercise anytime at participating Planet Fitness locations through the High School Summer Pass.

How does the High School Summer Pass program work?

Teenagers under 18 need a parent to sign a waiver during the pre-registration process . This can be done electronically or in person (teens can study alone after parents sign a waiver), but once registered, they will only have access to a specific selected location. No purchase required, but once the summer is over, the membership will likely continue for $10/month, so be sure to cancel if you don’t want to continue.

Once registered, download the app to access your digital club pass, which must be scanned to enter the gym. Teenagers are welcome anytime the gym is open and can also attend any free fitness classes available.

What you need to know before going to the gym

If you’re a teenager heading to the gym and need advice on how to stay safe and follow basic etiquette, we’ve got you covered . There are simple rules that you must follow in order not to harm yourself and become part of the sports community.

If you’re a parent who’s worried about your teen lifting weights, don’t worry. There is no “minimum age” for children to start lifting weights , as long as they do it safely. However, there are certain exercises that they are better off doing , especially if they are just starting out.

If you don’t have a Planet Fitness near you, check out other gyms in your area. Planet Fitness isn’t the only gym running summer programs for teens, so call and ask. Some even released teenagers with a guardian free of charge.
