Use IDK? a Decision Making App to Help You Make Better Decisions
Indecisive people are paralyzed with choices every day. I know because I am one of them. But we don’t have to make decisions alone – now our iPhones can help (and we can blame it for any unintended consequences).
How to use the free IDK? decision maker
The application is called IDK? Decision Maker ”, a new iOS application from the developer Vlad Parashch. I DON’T KNOW? Decision Maker is simple: no initial setup, registration, or subscription is required to get started. All you need to do is ask the app a new question and it will open a blank canvas ready to help you figure it out. Enter your problem in the “What is your dilemma?” field. box and then add your pros and cons from the Add Your Answer option. You can add weight to the pros and cons in question by choosing between “Strong Con”, “Con”, “Pro”, or “Strong Pro”. If you’re trying to decide whether to spend money on a new MacBook (as I often do), you can say that your aging computer’s sluggishness is the standard “Pro” while the hefty spending on a new MacBook is the “Strong Con” . Repeat the process for any number of arguments and the application will adjust the overall “score” of your solution and display the results above your arguments.
You can see from the screenshots below that I should n’t be buying a new MacBook today. (Well, okay: there’s always tomorrow.)
The app saves all your decisions in a list on the main page, so you can come back to them with new arguments to provide input or remind yourself why you made the decision you made in the first place.
While the default theme is cute, you also have the choice between three others, including a dog theme, a heart theme, or my favorite donut theme. Oddly enough, the app forces you to “buy” every theme you want through Apple’s in-app purchases, even though they’re all 100% free at the moment.
The entire app is also free and, according to the App Store’s privacy report, does not collect any of your data. It’s a simple, stylish and fun tool that shifts the burden of choice from you to the machines. However, don’t you need an IDK? A decision tool to help you decide whether to get an app or not. You can download IDK Decision Maker for free from the iOS App Store .
