Don’t Store These Household Items Under Your Kitchen Sink
While kitchens come in a variety of sizes, the amount of storage space in a room doesn’t always match the square footage.
But even in kitchens where there is no shortage of storage space, some places are more convenient for storage than others, including the main place under the sink. In addition, in some families, the space under the kitchen sink serves as the main place to store everything from cleaning products to light bulbs and batteries.
Unfortunately, conditions under the sink are not ideal—and in some cases, safe—for storing many of the items that tend to end up there. Here are some examples of household items that should not be kept under the kitchen sink.

Let’s start with the good news: there are many more things that are perfectly safe to store under the kitchen sink. Go ahead and place a small trash can or trash can there. Garbage bags and spare sponges? No problem.
However, for various reasons, you should probably find another place to store these items :
- Anything that plugs in: A leaky sink can render them useless.
- Anything flammable: including rubbing alcohol, aerosols, varnishes, thinners, thinners, polishes, and some cleaners.
- Food for people or pets: if someone or something is going to eat it, it should not be in a place prone to moisture and the potential for mold.
- Everything you cook on or eat with: there is no place for pots, pans, plates, baking sheets, etc.
- Bulbs: Any activity underneath can cause them to break.
- Paper towels: they can be damp and dirty
