Check If Your Ford SUV Is Involved in the Recall
Ford recalled 462,000 vehicles worldwide (382,000 in the US) due to a video output failure that prevented the image from the rear view camera from being displayed on the dashboard. According to a Ford report , there were 17 “minor crashes suspected to be caused by blue screen symptoms”, but there are no reports of injuries or deaths related to this problem. The recall is an extension and replacement of the 2021 recall of 228,000 vehicles of the same production.
According to Reuters , the NHTSA contacted Ford after they heard reports of a “blue image” on the rear camera display after the 2021 recall was completed. Ford then launched an internal investigation into the matter and subsequently issued this recall. The Ford Broncos was recalled late last year when the rear-view camera image on some vehicles continued to display on the dashboard even after the vehicle was disengaged from reverse, distracting drivers and potentially causing accidents.
