Don’t Eat These Recalled Nestle Cookies, FDA Says
Last month, Nestle had another recall of Toll House Cookie Dough with Chocolate Chip Filling and Fondant Filling. This time around, they are edible chocolate chip cookie jars that were recalled due to issues with having a soft plastic film inside their cookie mix. The recall came after consumers contacted Nestle about the plastic film in their cookie dough. Fortunately, there have been no reports of illness or injury as a result of plastic consumption.
Which Nestle cookies are being recalled?
There are three batches of edible chocolate chip cookie dough jars that are being voluntarily recalled. All of them were produced between August 1 and 3, 2022. The jars were distributed to retailers across the country. The recall affects the following batch codes with their respective “best before” dates:
- 22135554RR January 28, 2023
- 22145554RR January 29, 2023
- 22155554RR January 30, 2023
The batch code and the expiry date can be found on the side of the white cap. Here is an image that shows where you can find information to see if your bath is affected by the recall. According to the FDA , the recall does not apply to any other Nestle products, such as other varieties of edible or ready-to-bake cookie dough, so there is no need to worry about them.
What to do if you bought a recalled Nestle cookie
If one of your jars matches the above information, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning you not to consume the sweet dough and instead return it to the retailer you purchased it from for a replacement or refund of money. If you have additional questions about the recall and would like to contact Nestle USA, you can call them at (800) 681-1678 Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm ET.
