Your Fryer May Have Been Recalled
We expect our deep fryers to cook our food quickly, but not themselves in the process. But that’s what the Consumer Product Safety Commission is warning about, could happen to nearly 12,000 fryers. The recall applies to the Magic Chef Air Fryer Digital Air Fryer oven, both in black and white models, due to warnings about the risk of burns and fire due to overheating.
The fryers were sold online from July 2018 to September 2020 on Amazon.com, Target.com, Walmart.com, Wayfair.com, and Newair.com, priced between $115 and $138.
There have been no known incidents or injuries so far, according to the CPSC. Model numbers: MCAF56DW for white model and MCAF56DB for black model. “Magic Chef” is printed on the top of the fryers and they measure about 13 inches by 15 inches by 14 inches.
What to do if your fryer is recalled
If you have a fryer, you must stop using it immediately and send a picture of the rating label located on the bottom of the fryer to Newair for instructions on how to turn it off and receive a refund in the form of Newair.com. credit. If you have a receipt, you can submit it to receive credit for the amount you purchased the fryer for. If you do not have a receipt, you will receive a $50 credit.
