You Should Also Use GeForce Experience to Optimize Your Applications.
A new version of the Nvidia GeForce Experience software is available. The update brings new features, increased support for devices and games, and bug fixes, but there are two new features that will come in handy when you’re not playing on your PC: automatic app optimization and noise cancellation for OBS .
Optimized performance settings for creative apps
GeForce Experience now optimizes settings for creative software such as Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Substance Designer, AutoCad, DaVinci Resolve, and more. The app will also download the latest Nvidia Studio drivers when a new update is released.
GeForce Experience supported software is listed in the Games and Applications section of the GeForce Experience application. Apps using Nvidia’s Optimum Settings will have a green checkmark. Look for the gray circle if you need to quickly see which apps can benefit from some of the tweaks Nvidia has built.
You are not required to use Nvidia’s Optimum Settings, but they can improve performance in some cases and might be worth a try. Here’s how:
- In GeForce Experience, select the Games & Applications tab.
- Hover over a thumbnail of an app to highlight it, then click More Info.
- On the details page, click Optimize above the Settings section.
This applies Nvidia’s recommended settings based on your PC’s hardware, but you can also tweak them to improve performance or visual quality (or turn them off entirely):
- On the application details page, click the wrench icon above the Settings section.
- Move the slider towards Quality or Performance.
- Click “Apply” to save your changes. The app will change your settings accordingly.
- If you don’t want to use Nvidia’s suggestions for optimal settings at all, click Revert to discard your changes. You may also need to change settings from within the app.
Nvidia Noise Removal support for OBS
GeForce Experience also adds native support for Nvidia Noise Removal for OBS , one of the most popular studio streaming apps. Nvidia’s noise canceling technology uses AI cores in RTX 2000 or 3000 series GPUs to remove background noise from speakers, PC fans, or other ambient sounds without affecting your voice.
This is very important for broadcasters who prefer to use speakers instead of headphones, play fighting games with clunky arcade combat sticks, or broadcast from a noisy environment.
It used to be possible to use Nvidia Noise Removal in OBS by connecting OBS and Nvidia’s own broadcasting app, but now you can access this feature directly in OBS without any additional hassle. Almost.
Nvidia’s noise removal technology in OBS is still in testing and is only available in the current beta version of OBS . The beta also requires you to install the Nvidia Broadcast Effect SDK in order to use the noise filter. But as soon as the upcoming version of OBS 27 comes out, Nvidia Noise Removal will work with no additional requirements other than an RTX GPU.
How to enable Nvidia noise cancellation in OBS:
- In OBS, right-click the audio source and select Filters.
- In the Filters window, click the “+” in the lower left corner, then select Noise Reduction from the list.
- Name the filter.
- Select NVIDIA Noise Removal from the Method drop-down menu.
- Adjust the intensity settings.
- Close the filters window.
Creative app optimization, built-in Nvidia Noise Removal in OBS and all other new features are available after installing Nvidia GeForce Experience version 3.220.32. The update will be automatically installed the next time you launch the GeForce Experience application, or you can download the latest installer from here .
