Nintendo Really Wants You to Download the Splatoon 3 Demo
Splatoon 3 is almost here. The third entry in the most recent Nintendo IP is due for release on September 9th , just under a month away. In it, you will fight with friends and against enemies, painting new maps with your improved weapons. But there’s no need to wait until next month to try out Splatoon 3 – Nintendo is offering a free demo that will give you a taste of the new gameplay as well as a perk for all Nintendo Switch fans without Nintendo Switch Online.
Nintendo is launching a 12-hour Splatfest demo on Saturday, August 27 from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm PT (12:00 pm to 00:00 am ET). From 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM PT, you and your team will face off against other teams one-on-one. However, from 3 pm to 9 pm PT, Nintendo will host Splatfest Tricolor Turf War Battles, in which three teams will face off against each other in a 4v2v2 mode. (The game prompts you to choose between rock, paper, and scissors before put you on your team. , the Splatoon reminder always does things a little differently.)
While the 12-hour demo will certainly be of interest to Splatoon fans and those interested in the game, there is one benefit that many Nintendo Switch owners should be aware of: Since a Nintendo Switch Online subscription is required to play the Splatoon demo, Nintendo is offering a seven-day a free trial of the service for anyone who enters the demo. The best part is that you are not excluded if you have used the free trial in the past: everyone is eligible for this promotion.
All you have to do is download the demo of Splatoon 3: Splatfest World Premiere from Nintendo eShop to your Switch. When you do so, you will receive an email with a code to use your free trial of Nintendo Switch Online. This code is valid from August 25th. While the 12-hour demo won’t start until August 27th, the Splatoon 3 tutorial will go live on August 25th. You also don’t have to activate your trial right away: Nintendo will give you until 11:59 pm PT on August 31st to do so.
Regardless of when you activate it, you will have one whole week of Nintendo Switch Online at your disposal. You will have free access to a lot of old Super Nintendo and NES games, and if you have any games with online features, this will be your chance to check them out.
