Last week I asked you for the unwritten rules of parking lot etiquette . As I wrote at the time, this request came about because I previously asked Lifehacker readers about their unbreakable rules of driving etiquette . From this arose the sub-category of passionate gratification of common sense and human decency. Besides the rules of the road, the parking rules deserve their own place (pun intended).
Lifehacker readers have submitted over 100 responses and I sincerely hope their comments were cathartic. Whether you’re screaming alone in your car or typing furiously in the comments section, it’s nice to talk about “driving etiquette.” I put the word “etiquette” in quotation marks because these friendly reminders are often not so much about what is considered polite as about what is codified law. While we hope that every driver understands and follows these written rules of the road, it is clear that many of us would benefit from a refresher course.
