The Smart Way to Send High Resolution Photos on Whatsapp
In most of the world, WhatsApp is now the default messaging app (with the exception of the US, of course). And that’s mostly for a good reason – it’s free, fast, and end-to-end encrypted. But one of the side effects of WhatsApp’s popularity is that it fucking compresses every photo and video you share. Sometimes you need to send or receive an image via WhatsApp and it must be of high quality. Although there is no official support for this in WhatsApp, there is a workaround that will help – send the image as a document.
This is easy enough on Android, but requires bypassing the Files app on iPhone. We’ll look at both options below.

As we mentioned above, the process on iPhone is a bit more complicated. First, you need to select images or videos and add them to the Files app. Open the Photos app and select the images you want to share. Click the ” Share ” button and use the ” Add to Files ” option. Here, select a folder and click ” Save “.
Now go to the WhatsApp conversation, press the ” Plus ” button and select ” Document “. The Files document picker opens. Navigate to the folder where you saved the images. Here, press the ” Menu ” button at the top and select the ” Select ” option if you want to send multiple images. Select images and click Submit .
