Walmart is generally considered to have the lowest prices. But this is not always the case. Kiplinger has compiled a list of things that can be found cheaper elsewhere.
Walmart may have low everyday prices, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to beat them. Kiplinger compared Walmart’s off-sale prices to those of its competitors. They also used data from price comparison sites. Here’s what they found cheaper elsewhere.
- Toys and Games : For most of the items they researched, Amazon beat Walmart by several dollars.
- Organic Fruits and Vegetables : They found that Aldi and Trader Joe’s always had better prices than Walmart. It’s the same with organic milk.
- Batteries : they are cheaper in wholesale warehouse clubs. Mostly Costco.
It’s worth noting, though, that Walmart does have a price negotiation policy . While matching some products can be tricky, their policy states that it will match the same product on Amazon as long as it is not sold on “marketplace or third-party sellers.”
