Beware of Hacking Your Airline Accounts

Since there have been so many hacks lately, the first thing you might be interested in looking at your credit cards and bank accounts after a hack. If you’ve accumulated tons of frequent flyer miles, you should check these accounts as well.

The average person may not even consider checking a frequent flyer account. This is why they are a great target for hackers. You may not know your account has been hacked until someone rides at your expense.

You can also protect your account by securing your boarding pass. Don’t put this in your seat pocket when you’re done. Treat it like a credit card receipt and dispose of it securely.

If you have many miles, check your account for suspicious activity on a quarterly basis, just like you should check your credit report .
