Cameyo Runs Windows Applications in a Browser

A few years ago, we reviewed Cameyo, which let you create portable versions of just about any application . Now the company offers an even more interesting service: launching Windows applications in a browser window.

Cameyo comes with a built-in library of many free or open source apps (presumably there will be no paid apps due to licenses). You can also upload your own package files and after a few minutes of processing, launch the application in a separate tab. Obviously, there are some limitations as apps run separately in a virtual environment and you can’t access the entire file system, but you can connect apps to Dropbox to keep your settings and files created in the app itself.
