How to Disable Chrome’s New User Menu
An update is now being rolled out for Chrome that adds a new menu in the upper right corner of the app that allows you to manage users. It’s ugly and a little annoying if you don’t switch profiles frequently. Here’s how to turn it off.
All you have to do to disable it is go to the flags menu.
- Enter chrome: // flags in the address bar.
- Find on the page “Enable New Profile Management System”
- Change the dropdown menu to Disabled
- Restart Chrome
That’s all. You will lose the user management menu and go back to the simpler version of Chrome. If you’d rather revert to the old look, do this:
- Enter chrome: // flags in the address bar.
- Find “Enable new avatar menu”.
- Change the dropdown to Disabled
- Restart Chrome
This will bring back the old avatar menu.
