“Confidence Is the Ability to Truly Move Towards Business.”
When we think of confidence , it’s hard not to associate it with success. However, confidence is not really related to success or failure. It’s about intervening and acting regardless of the outcome.
Confidence is something that many of us struggle with on a daily basis. We find it difficult to focus on what’s happening in front of us and instead focus on our own insecurities. But when it comes down to it, confidence may have more to do with our perception and courage as a person. Co-authored with The Confidence Code , ABC News reporter Claire Shipman interviewed a Buddhist scholar namedSharon Salzberg . What Salzberg said about confidence really hooked Shipman:
“It’s the ability to truly move towards something. Conscientiously move towards challenges without holding back … The ability to just take that risk, jump into things and capitalize on what it feels like, just leave your comfort zone and just do something – someday and find out … “
In a sense, confidence is about being comfortable when you are uncomfortable . It’s about capturing that moment right before doing something you’re not sure about in the bottle. Right before you jump from a height, dive into a pool, or walk up to someone you’ve never met to introduce yourself. When you have those moments, enjoy the opportunity and remember that those moments are the key to confidence. Be courageous and genuinely get down to business.
