The Best and Worst Conditions When It Comes to Your Overall Well-Being

Your well-being is how comfortable, healthy, and happy you are, so it’s important to maintain it. These are the states with the highest and lowest well-being scores, according to nationwide polls by Gallup and Healthways .

After a massive survey conducted from January to December last year, each state in the United States was assigned an index from 0 to 100, reflecting the general welfare of the population of the state. The score is based on five different metrics, including a resident’s sense of purpose, social life, financial security, sense of community, and physical health. Anything that is important to maintain your happiness. Here’s how the top five states were scored (where 0 is the lowest possible well-being and 100 is the highest possible well-being):

  1. Alaska: 64.7
  2. Hawaii: 64.5
  3. South Dakota: 64.3
  4. Wyoming: 63.9
  5. Montana: 63.7

It must be nice to be outside the United States. The five worst include Mississippi, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and finally West Virginia. Of course, all this information should be treated with a grain of salt. Just because you live in a low-index state does not mean that you are unhappy. But if you are feeling a little overwhelmed , changing your environment to one of the main states can help. No survey, however large-scale, can capture a person’s experience in certain places, but there must be a reason why so many people are happy in those places.
