Prioritize Your Goals With This Simple Two-Question Test

If you feel like you have too many things to do, prioritizing can help a lot . You can get rid of the less important things by asking yourself a couple of questions about how committed you really are.

You can do a lot more by choosing projects and focusing on them, but how do you decide? It’s easy to get carried away with ideas and desires, but if you don’t prioritize, nothing gets done. Leo Babauta of Zen Habits invites you to ask yourself these two questions:

What do you want to do right now? Can you focus on this for at least a month?

If not, then maybe this is not so important to you.

You can ask yourself this whenever something comes up that you want to achieve, but you should take the time to be truly honest with yourself. A month of concentration is the ideal duration to test your devotion because there is so much you can accomplish, but it is also enough to make you wonder, “Will this interest me at all in a month?” A month is also enough to form a habit of working on something. Hopefully at least one of your goals stands the test and you know what you really want to focus on.
