Create an Emergency Pet Evacuation Kit
We must be as prepared as possible for emergencies. This is a responsible act. And when you have a pet, you need to be sure that it is prepared too. Create an evacuation kit to move pets quickly during an emergency.
Instructables user Eshlijlong explains that an emergency evacuation of pets is taking place. They may not be frequent, but at the end of the day, it is the nature of emergencies. Although they do not happen often, it is worth preparing when they do:

My mom went through ASPCA rescue training after this event, and the information she learned there really remembered me. There is a big push in California to have earthquake protection kits ready for people. In a home with pets, it makes sense to have a pet-friendly emergency kit ready.
Eshlijlong recommends filling your bag with the most essential pet grooming items. Here are a few of them:
- 3-7 days of food. Wet food in foil bags works well.
- Stock of bottled water for 3-7 days with a basin.
- Identification of your pet, including microchip information and photo
- A piece of zipped cat litter and a disposable aluminum pot.
- Muzzle and leash, collar or harness
- Familiar sound like a squeaky toy
