Find Your Saved Maps in Your Google Drive Using the Opens With Tool

When Google added the ability to create and share your own maps , they didn’t make it easy to find those maps in your Google Drive. You cannot search by the type of map file, but you can search for files that open with Google My Maps.

In the Google Drive search box, click the triangle to open the search options. There are no options for maps in the File Types section (at the time of writing). Bummer. The secret is to click “Opens with”. Below this option is “Google My Maps”. Search with this limit and all of your cards will appear in the results. This is a weird workaround, and hopefully Google will fix it at some point, but for now it’s handy.
