Alternote Is a Minimal Note Taking App for Mac With Evernote Support
Mac: Evernote is great, but it’s a little overkill if you’re just using it for basic writing. Alternote is a Mac app currently in beta that makes things a lot easier while still syncing with your Evernote account.
At first glance, Alternote looks like a simple supercharged note. It has a simple three-pane interface with your notebooks, notes and tags, then a list of your notes, and finally the note itself. You can then switch to the writing area without distracting you, switch between day and night modes, and even change the font size. You also get several WYSIWG editing options for formatting. This is a beta version, so you can expect some problems, but we did not encounter anything major. If you’re a little tired of Evernote’s interface, Alternote makes it easy to make your writing really enjoyable.
