Use an Apple Slicer to Slice Potatoes Even Faster
Given how much we love versatile kitchen equipment , you probably won’t be surprised to know that we avoid single tasks as much as possible, like apple slicers . But if you already have one taking up space in your drawer, it has a secondary use: a potato knife.
If you need to cut a bunch of legs for a stew, mashed potato, curry, or anything else that requires potato slices, here’s what you do: Cut the potato in half to make a flat surface, then lift it up, flat side down, and run through it. the core for the apple. Voila! Your potato has just turned from one slice to seven with just one slice.
We wouldn’t recommend that you go out and buy an apple crown for this purpose alone, but if you already own one, we have to admit: it’s pretty convenient.
