Hotel My Phone Temporarily Transfers Your Number to Another Phone
iOS / Android: This happens to the best of us: you forget your phone when you go out, or it runs out of power. Hotel My Phone allows you to use a friend’s phone, but use your own phone number.
If you want to borrow someone else’s phone, all you have to do is log into your Hotel My Phone account on their phone. You will start receiving SMS messages and phone calls to this phone. They will also save your contact list on their server (read the privacy policy first), but this is optional.
Both phones need to have Hotel My Phone installed in advance, so of course it is not ideal for all situations. It is unlikely that you will accidentally meet a stranger who installs this application to help you. This is good for you and your spouse, or when you have a work and personal phone. When you’re at a loss, you can switch numbers without having to switch phones. I tried this with a pay-as-you-go spare phone and it worked great when my iPhone got repaired.
Calls within your “network of friends” – people you have previously authorized – are free. Otherwise, it’s $ 1 every time you use someone else’s phone.
