These Cities Will Really Pay You to Live There
The idea of moving to a new town or city can fill you with the thrill of a new adventure or the fear of shoving all your shit into a truck. It turns out that there are real cities in this country that, in an attempt to revitalize the community, will actually pay you in cash to get a place to live.
If you’ve just graduated from college and aren’t attached to any community or job, a moving truck might not look so bad.
According to Cameron Huddleston of Kiplinger, these initiatives come from small towns, a young town and much of the state. Benefits include student loan repayment, tax credits, free sites, and tenant allowances. They’re also no small thing, and include cash payments of up to $ 12,000 for new construction and student loan repayments worth just under $ 3,500.
According to Kiplinger, here are 4 places to look out for:
- Harmony, Minnesota
- Niagara Falls, New York
- Kansas, almost everywhere in Kansas
- Detroit, Michigan
If you’re ready to take the big step and get some help with the process, check out Kiplinger’s article for full details.
