Create Your Own Sound Sensitive LED Wall Art Powered by Arduino
Anyone can hang a poster on the wall, but if you’re ready to do a little DIY home decoration, this Arduino based LED wall art looks amazing and responds to the music playing in the room with different colors and effects. … You will need space to build it, but once it’s done it will look amazing.
This DIY project came to us from Stathack, who you may remember for his recently built baby bottle Wi-Fi antenna . This one is definitely more complicated and it checks all the parts you need on its website, but in short, you need a heavy duty picture hanger, some MDF, tons of paint, some rough floor for the back of the device, an Arduino Uno. a sound sensor (so that art can “hear” what is playing in the room), LED strips, and wiring and accessories to put it all together.
He carved out of MDF and wood the shape of the giant Darth Vader mask that lives right above the sofa, but you can just as easily stretch out and make your piece as you please. Just keep in mind that when it’s finished it will be backlit with LED strips, so you’ll need something that looks pretty cool with flashing lights around it. Click on the link below to check out the complete build of the project, step by step, including the code you need to get the Arduino to work with the components it used.
