Make a Dipping Sauce in No Time Using Jam As a Base

A truly delicious sauce can turn a dish into something amazing – and there are a few things everyone should master . If you want to make an egg or spring roll sauce, use jam as a base.

With the right additional ingredients, you can transform a sweet salat into something more savory. In an interview with Serious Eats, Chef Quiley Watson shared a recipe for a dipping sauce that starts with jam.

Chef Watson’s Egg Roll Sauce Recipe:

Eat egg rolls at any Americanized Chinese restaurant and they are served with bright orange duck sauce straight from the bag. We try to mimic this with different fruits by making a sauce with jam instead of flavored syrup. Take a tropical fruit jam like pineapple or jackfruit, then flatten it with cornstarch, a little monosodium glutamate, and salt, and that usually gets you to where you need to be in a sweet sauce to dip your egg rolls into.

Having these recipes (and their ingredients) on hand can be helpful for an enhanced snack or surprise for guests. For more recipes for dipping sauce that uses jam, check out the full post at the link below.
