Prevent Natural Fiber Sweaters From Shedding by Freezing Them
If you have a natural fiber sweater, you’ve probably noticed that it sheds or pills occasionally. To prevent this from happening, try freezing it.
WhoWhatWear recommends putting the sweater in a Ziploc bag and then leaving it in the freezer overnight. This is said to help anchor the fibers and you only need to do this once to keep them from coming out due to constant wear and tear.
I was skeptical, but I tried it and it worked for me. I often wear a sweater over a blouse or dress, and when I take off my sweater, my blouse or dress gets covered in hair. After freezing the sweater overnight, I ran a test run, and the shedding almost completely disappeared.
