HTTPS Everywhere Updates to Keep Thousands of Other Sites Safe
Chrome / Firefox / Opera: Using HTTPS is essential to keep your personal information secure, especially when browsing over public Wi-Fi . The free HTTPS Everywhere extension was recently updated with thousands of additional rules to ensure that HTTPS is enabled on as many sites as possible.
HTTPS, in case you didn’t know, is a simple browser extension that automatically connects you to the HTTPS version of thousands of sites, instead of using the much less secure HTTP. The new version of the extension not only adds thousands of new rules, but also adds some automated tests to check for common errors, easier disabling (when HTTPS Everywhere breaks functionality on the site you are visiting), and the ability to disable HTTP. together. Obviously, this will break many sites, but if you are particularly concerned about security, it can help ensure that all your information is protected for this session.
