Rotate Rugs for More Even Wear
If you have a rug that protrudes under your furniture, part of your carpet is exposed to much more pedestrian traffic and is exposed to vacuum than the rest. Extend the life of the rug by periodically turning it over.
This is a simple tip from the Apartment Therapy design blog, but it might save you from replacing your carpet just because part of it wears out faster than the rest. Turn the rug over about every six months to wear more evenly. You can even rotate it on the same schedule as the wheels.
