The Only Time You Should Rinse the Paste

Once you’ve cooked your pasta properly , you usually shouldn’t rinse it after boiling. However, there are a few cases where this is normal.

When you rinse the pasta, they wash away any remaining starches that are allowing the sauce to stick to the noodles. Under normal circumstances, the more sauce you add to the noodles, the better. Kelly Dunn of The Kitchn, however, explains that in two cases it is better to use washed noodles:

  • Pasta salad: It stops the cooking process so it does not soften and prevent the pasta from sticking together.
  • Stir- fry: Reheating unwashed noodles can make them sticky and clumpy.

Other than that, strain the pasta and add the sauce immediately! Let this starchy kindness do its job.
