All Chrome Versions Will Soon Block Non-Store Extensions

Last year, Google began blocking the installation of Chrome extensions that were not in the online store. However, this did not affect Chrome developer channels. Everything changes from today.

Google claims that after disabling non-store extensions, they saw a 75% drop in requests to support removal of unwanted extensions. As a result, they will begin blocking downloads of unpublished extensions in the Windows Developer Channel today, followed shortly by the Mac, and the “All Channel” channels in July.

However, there are still ways to bypass this block. As before, you can still install extensions manually in developer mode . They will turn off every time you restart, unless you go through a rather annoying process , which still makes this a pretty big blow for Chrome users. Click the link to find out more.
