Google Animation Policy Prevents GIFs From Endlessly Looping in Chrome
Chrome: I love a good GIF party like no one else, but if I’m on a page with a constantly looping animation, it gets on my nerves pretty quickly. Google just released a Chrome extension that allows you to completely block an animation or set it to play only once.
The extension is incredibly simple: install it, click a button on the toolbar, and decide if you want the animation to play forever, stop after a single pass, or never animate. Simple, huh?
We’d love to have it give you settings for each site, or perhaps let them play twice (I miss them the first time sometimes), but overall it’s a useful setting if you spend a lot of time with GIFs. Alternatively, you can try GIF Blocker , which won’t play GIFs until you click on them.
