Kill Broadleaf Weeds With Vodka
Broadleaf weeds such as dandelions, wild onions, apple trees, and plantains can grow everywhere. If you don’t want to splatter them with store-bought items, cheap vodka will do.
Most herbicides you can buy contain toxins that can be annoying to children and pets. For a cheap alternative, the Do It Yourself site recommends plain old vodka. Buy a large plastic bottle of cheap stuff and fill up a decent spray bottle. When it’s sunny outside, give each weed a spray or two and it will begin to shrivel and die. Of course, this will kill the grass too, so don’t spray it all over your lawn. Also, be sure to remove dead weeds so their seeds don’t disperse. If you’re not sure if you have broadleaf weeds, check out this University of Pennsylvania database to help you identify them.
